Linea
About us
Linea is a catalog of stories and the worlds inside them, and of the real people, places and works behind them.
What Linea is
On the fictional side, Linea keeps characters, stories, concepts, places, things, universes and realities, and how they relate: who appears in which story, which world a place belongs to, what was based on what. Categories such as genres, character types and relationship types tie them together, and the network diagram shows the connections.
On the real side, it keeps people, organizations, real locations and works (books, films, series, music and more), with their credits, so a story can be followed back to the people who made it and the works it appeared in.
Who fills it in
Anyone can browse Linea. Anyone who signs up can add and correct records, attach pictures and files, translate, and keep favorites and a list of what they have read, watched or played.
Where the data comes from
Much of the real-world catalog was imported from public sources, among them Open Library, MusicBrainz, Wikipedia and IMDb's datasets; a record keeps its identifiers in those sources. Everything else was added by members. Every change is recorded with who made it and when.
